More images from North Shore, the drive over there from Waikiki-Honolulu was about 45 minutes. It was a quick easy drive, I highly suggest renting a car while on the island. Renting a car allowed us to venture off and explore everything on the island.

The ocean was rough, no one could enter the water ( I guess you could if you wanted a death sentence) there were warning signs all over. We saw lots of people sitting in the sand and even families having photo sessions on the beach. As a photographer the beaches and the waves made for exceptional photos.

This side of the island reminded me of Kona (the island that my daughter and I visited last year). It was so pretty and you saw less department stores, less restaurants and more vacation homes and food trucks. I'm not sure if it's because we were closer to the beach but either way it was really very pretty. I was surprised to see what I thought were Pine Trees on this side of the isalnd. I'm still not exactly sure if they are soley on this side of the island but as we were driving into North Shore we saw lots of them. If anyone knows for sure if they are PINE TREES I'd love a comment. We ventured back to Waikiki after eating at North Shore Shrimp Truck which my daughter and I highly recommend.
