We drove over to North Shore on Thursday November 6th and really loved it. We hit several beaches but they were closed off to swimmers/surfers due to the dangerous shore break. We enjoyed our toes in the sand and the sound of the waves crashing onto the beach. Being from Nebraska this isn't a normal occurance so for me it was all so peaceful. Disappointed that getting into the water on this side of the island wasn't an option but this is winter season over there and so the surf/water gets rougher in this area than others. North Shore and Waikiki are both on opposite sides of the spectrum. What I mean is Waikiki is more touristy and North Shore seems so rural.

We saw these Warning signs everywhere on North Shore. We didn't get into the water but we sure snapped enough photos of us on the beach walking around for the memories.

Swimsuit is from Amazon several years ago and held up great. I wasn't out swimming laps but if you have a larger chest this swimsuit will keep you sucked in.

The blue water, the soft sand and the sunshine made our time over on North Shore simply perfect.

After hitting a few beaches we made our way to one of the many food trucks in the area. We
enjoyed amazing shrimp. You peeled it (which can be a lot of work) but I savored every drop !!! We saw someone at Leanards Bakery one morning over in Honolulu and it was suggested that we try the North Shore Shrimp Truck and it was amazing very thankful we were encouraged to try it.

There were chickens everywhere, like this one sitting on our table. This was typical of what we saw which didn't bother me. Over on the Big Island of Kona there were tons of goats & over here in Oahu we saw thousands of chickens. It's interesting seeing the differences in islands. It was really nice that my daughter recommended we get a rental car. It made getting around exploring other parts of the island seem like MORE of a vacation than just staying on the beach 24/7. She's such an amazing travel planner and really knows her stuff when it comes to what she/we need to see it all and experience all the islands have to offer.
Stay tuned for more island vacation photos.
